Unfortunately it is the Republicans in power who are responsible for all the human rights abuses the U.S. is engaging in right now. I don't think you could really call Amnesty International partisan simply because the Republicans are in power. What exactly did you observe there that made you feel the way you do? What made you believe they lost sight of their original mission? Have you looked at the Amnesty site recently? I mean really clicked around and read the 2005 Report for various countries? It seems very balanced to me.
