hi tommaso. i am thinking of increasing my postition in COS via OST. I have seen the leverage in OST with regards to COS shrink in the last few months. is there a set leverage(like x2) in OST with regards to COS and do you think it will remain the same till 2010.? with OST available why do you own COS?

From Steve on the FOOL on Ford

I stopped by the Ford dealer in Farmington Hills today. I could hardly find any cars among the row upon row of SUVs and pickups.

Returning home, I checked the dealer's web site for model counts in stock:

Their stock includes:
(1) Crown Vic
(2) Tauruses
(22) 500s
(12) Focuses
(5) Mustangs

Pickups:
(74) F150s (considering the volume of F150s sold this probably isn't as overloaded as it appears)
(3) Rangers

SUVs:
(2) Excursions
(6) Expeditions
(88) Explorers and Sport Tracs
(85) Escapes
(32) Freestyles

Given the relative sales volumes Ford Motor is reporting for their various models, it would appear that Ford has stuffed the channel to bursting with Explorers and Escapes. At what point will the dealers refuse to take any more?

Steve

Given that we've gone 2% of 2.75% in probable rate hikes and a ball game has 9 innings, I'd argue about being in the 8 th inning – looks closer to 7 th to me. But the bigger question is: So what?
