And how would you expect him to respond to questioning from a Chinese delegate?

If the question was:

"Mr. Rumsfeld, is the US threatened by China's emergence as a world power?"

Do you think he would answer yes? Of course not. His direct answer to the Chinese, in that one paragraph, which you cherry picked, was no.

But read the rest of his message. It's clear that he is disturbed by China's military buildup.

And also note that the question was about China's emergence as a world power. This could mean an economic world power as well, and China's emergence as a world power in that regard would not threaten the US, especially since many US (and other countries) companies are participating in China's growth.

While you continue to focus on the fantasy aspect of a Chinese invasion, you miss the point of how this example illustrates how the Iraqi people feel being invaded and occupied by the US. All I was trying to do was to get you to take their perspective. To help you do that I used the example of a Chinese invasion, and asked you to think about what you'd do.

And you replied you'd wait around for a couple of years to see if they were going to liberate or occupy.

You can go on moaning about my "Chinese invasion fantasy" if you want to, but we all know your game. You will refuse to see that the invasion of Iraq was wrong.
