I agree about the assymmetric part, but disagree Iran would be successfull for more than part of day in closing the straits of Hormuz. Iran couldn't close the strait assymetrically.

I don't think Iran would have to do anything to the Straits, just the fear would spike oil prices. If I remember correctly, we have to hit about $80bbl in order to match past peak prices in real terms.

Goldman Sachs thinks that $100bbl oil is possible (probable?).

Egads. Get out the bike and the running shoes.
