Ok, let me address your comments, starting with the latter.
We had a GUEST WORKER program for years here in Florida set up to plant and harvest our sugar cane. This program was with all the Caribean nations and was a good deal all the way around. The workers got a fair payment for their work, but not in cash. They got a sort of allowance for living, a portion was sent to their homes for their families, and the balance was deposited in a savings for when they went home. Everyone benefitted. The nations as it brought hard currency home, and assisted with unemployment, the families as they got money to live on, and the worker who was unable to fritter away his earnings and got a nice lump sum upon returning home. This program ended when OUR GOVT made it complicated, it got expensive and the Sugar Cane Farmers then turned to mechanical harvests.

The other comment, I was just in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Thats a short distance from the border. I was with PREDOMINATELY Spanish heritage, Mexican background individuals. The ones I was with were all legal American Residents. The minutemen effectively closed down a main entry point in Arizona so the illegals shifted to New Mexico. These people were SHOCKED the volume of the traffic and realized the adverse effect it could have ON THEM.
There may be POLITICIANS or GROUPS that support illegal immigration but THE PEOPLE THEMSELVES do not in my judgement. jdn
