Seems like he didn't support the South's right to dissent and secede. No need to bring in slavery, because that didn't become an issue until halfway into the Civil War.


Your post inferred that the North was the aggressor. It was not. The South wanted to persist in an immoral act.......owning human beings. The North did not agree. The South started a war. Its that simple. To make something else out of it is a sad attempt at revisionism.
