Just because people have to comply with the law does not mean the free enterprise does not exist.

My point is that 'free enterprise' exists ONLY because there are laws not in spite of them.

Of course there are laws and regulations that are absurd or out dated or unfair or inefficient. However, without laws and regulations we wouldn't have free enterprise, we'd have tyranny and monopolies.

Think about how many laws and regulations and overseers govern the 'free market' of the stock exchanges. Even with those, there are transaction costs and information isn't free or perfect for all participants. In fact, without laws and regulations who would want to put their money up to participate in the stock market? Who would trust it?
