"I would guess picking up more seats in the Senate and House could be included ...mandate."

Yep. That's traditionally been part of the 'mandate' thing. But i would argue that a sweep by one Party would mean that the PARTY has a 'mandate'... while a sweep by a candidate means the CANDIDATE has a 'mandate'. Not always the same thing.

"BTW I am still trying to figure out if you're a libertarian or a democrat."

Never been a Democrat or Republican in my life. Always either registered as a Libertarian or an 'independent'.

"You say you're libertarian, but the ones I work with tend to hate both parties."

You can count me in that camp.

"I can't remember ever seeing you bash a socialist or their philosophy/ideas...Just curious."

Well, GEE... just how many *Socialist Party members* hold power in Washington? Not much point in wasting time talking about unimportant people who can't influence developments. (You don't see me talking about 'one-eyed elk ranchers' much either....)
