Market Pulse: Sun Micro cut to sell at Rosetta Group on acquisition
Monday June 6, 5:25 am ET
By Aude Lagorce

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Rosetta Group Research cut Sun Microsystems, Inc. to sell from neutral, saying its decision to acquire Storage Technology Corp. is comparable to "a garbage truck jumping into a landfill." The broker told clients it believes that of all the things Sun could do with its cash, it chose to acquire a company that is hardly growing in a mature market that is completely passe. "With all the problems that Sun has with its strategy, at best this acquisition is a distraction and at worst it is a mud pit," Rosetta concluded.

I doubt it. The deal doesn't close for a while, and the dip in price in the meantime could put Sun in play -- the opposite of what you suggest.

JMHO.
