No, but they don't condemn it either

This is one of the problems with countries that lack a free press. There is no history of voicing dissenting views, or even discussing controversial views in public forums. Criticism of the self does not exist.

For the America haters, I am referring to the regimes in the ME, not the US press despite your views that the US press is somehow controlled by GB.....

re: and neither do you when you spend plenty of prose on "explanations" for their behaviour and promoting your pet theory

Doesn't it make intellectual and strategic sense to try to figure out what makes your enemy act the way they do? Or is it more productive to just assume they are inherently evil.

Do you honestly believe the majority of Muslim religious leaders espouse violence?

No, but they don't condemn it either and neither do you when you spend plenty of prose on "explanations" for their behaviour and promoting your pet theory that US has pushed them to do what the do.

I have condemned the very bad behavior of the Arabs on a number of occasions. Since you all do that with such frequency and eloquence, I leave the bulk of the Arab whining and trashing to you and try to see what's behind the bad behavior. And yes, in part, the US does bear some responsibility as do other western nations. Why do you ignore that point when you voice your complaints over the big, bad Arabs?

I believe this is what mindmeld tries again and again to get over to you, Ted.

I think what MM wants me to do is to stop suggesting that his optimistic view may be wrong. When making that argument, its often valuable to point out the throngs that agree with his position and disagree with me. As a European, I would think you would understand that tactic thoroughly.
