Works for me - how do we do it? I would suggest starting grassroots PR campaigns where you threaten to lynch your local Congressman unless he starts voting against this stuff.

Until we clear out the nest of pork lovers, it won't change. They get by now playing the "everyone gets some bacon" in the big pork roundups.

And their odds of losing the next election are almost nothing. We get what we vote for.

How about eliminating aid to companies for advertising their products, and handouts to large companies whenever they look like they might be in trouble (Chrysler, the Airlines, some banks and trading companies, and more). And while were at it, it would be nice if we could do something about all the pork that gets doled out each year in the transportation bill. It would be nice if we got the federal government out of the property insurance field (and didn't replace underpriced insurance with free grants to people who suffer economic damage from natural disasters).
