If we declare victory, why wait? Leave Iraq to the Iraqis. Self determination and all those other old fashioned values.

That was the plan but they left early on for security reasons after one of their head guys was killed in a rocket attack. As far as I know, the occupying power hasn't offered to turn over security to UN peacekeepers, and I doubt they would take it.

Do you think the UN should clean up our mess?
