You are wrong, not surprisingly. As you have probably heard (maybe not), Arabs have an oral tradition that is much more rich than is commonly found in our Western society. Story telling and humor is something that is highly prized and common. Many subcultures within the Arab cultures have highly developed and distinctive humor. I can understand that you have never come across it and likely never would. You are one of the most culturally deprived persons on SI and from all appearances, that is by choice.

As told by an Egyptian:

Three people had arranged marriages
One said :"I have luck, my wife is very good at everything".
The second said :"I am miserable mine is awful"
The third one keeps quiet, so they ask him:
How about you?
He said :"I don't really know. Some people tell me she is very good, others say she is lousy!".

A tourist asks
Tourist: Can you tell the quickest way to town please?
Egyptian: Are you walking or driving?
Tourist: Driving.
Egyptian: That IS the quickest way!
