I think AMD talks to Dell every chance they get.
For years Intel has been giving Dell all sorts of sweet deals just so they would have the leverage to keep AMD at bay. I'm not sure that the AMD story is compelling enough yet. Once Windows-64 bit is mainstream it may be a game Dell just has to play, but in the meantime they can outsource a lot of overhead and R&D to Intel.
