looking at the XAU/HUI relative to gold over the past 3 trading days, one would normally be inclined to interpret its action as bearish, and it's quite possible that a short term pullback is actually coming.
however, i still think the bullish phase has further to go...e.g. negative action in the XAU is alleviated by a positive sector advance/decline ratio. also, as previously mentioned, put open interest in XAU options is growing relative to open calls, and i regard this as a very significant indicator ( it has a very good record of identifying both bullish and bearish intermediate term phases ) .
so i agree with WileE that dips should be bought...for the time being anyway.

@"the French are clueless"

let's see...French workers are among the most productive in the world - while enjoying a shorter work-week , more vacations and holidays than those of any other industrialized nation.
French food and wines are legendary, and with good reason.
the French have more sex than any other industrialized nation population.
the French movie industry has enjoyed a massive revival and is producing countless highly entertaining films, which are in some instances noteworthy for their standards of innovation.
the French have just said "NON!" to the EU constitution.

How clueless can they be?

i didn't even know they update intra-day trading?
on the summary page which is found under 'sentiment brief' you only get the volume ratio of the preceding trading day - and that was 1.90 on Friday ( and 1.95 on Thursday ) .
90% is the current annual percentile ranking of the XAU open interest ( as opposed to volume ) p/c ratio.
