Actually i remember you did. But to my larger point, how many of the conservative folk here were kind to you when you said that? The real joke is that the worlds only superpower with its great army has never really been a militarist type nation. We rise to the occasion when directly threatened. The last three of four major wars--korea, vietnam, iraq dont really meet that test. Afganistan certainly did but that had no real post war insurgency like iraq. If we are going to fight such wars, we will need something like the french foreign legion in place. Volunteer army as conceived has been done in by lousy treatment of the reservists and national guard. MIke
