Whereas I agree that much of the press and politicians' blinders are due to their ideological or corporate bent, some of it is that they simply do not know.

I don't know what their work schedules look like but I'll bet that many of the talkingheads don't know about or don't remember the details of these complicated situations.

That's a good propaganda tactic. Flood the public with mounds of misdeeds until the opposition is so stunned it gives up. Better yet if the misdeeds are technical and tedious and deadly boring in nature.

I will bet more people (including the press) remember Bush's incident with the choking pretzel than remember anything about Niger Yellowcake and alumnium tubes and inspectors.
