Oopps, I was rushing to go out and didn't even read my post. There was a slight decimal point error:

That's not much to borrow when annual GDP per captia is something like $50,000 or maybe it's only $40,000 and sales of MSFT and QCOM and GOOG are zooming.

The interest on $2,500 is only about $700 a year. That's only a little bit out of $40,000

Of course the interest on $2,500 isn't $700 a year. If at say 4%, it's only $100 a year or if at 6% it's $150 a year. I don't think that even $200 a year will be much problem for a GDP per capita of $40,000.

That can't just carry on. But borrowing for a while is fine. Heck, I did it myself to fund Globalstar - duh! I'd have been better off to do as USAers do and borrow to buy a Lexus.
