It's a constant pattern in legislative politics that noble, oppressed minorities become nasty gerrymandering bullies when they finally get power in a chamber. It only gets worse as the partisanship gets worse.

I had the impression that the Senate 14 emerged because they were fed up with zero-sum cutthroat politics in their body. It would be useful if that spirit continued and grew, regardless of the specific membership.

I wouldn't bank on it, however,
