Off topic.

Get a clue goofball. There is no such thing as a "religion of peace". In the history of the world, holy wars have accounted for three fourth of all war related deaths. You will not find a single religion where at some point in time, the village shaman hasn't insisted the only way to spread their message of peace is to kill anyone who doesn't believe what he tells them to believe. It's easy enough to understand, as village shamans would have to find legitimate means of supporting themselves if it were not for donations from suckers who insist on believing in magic. It doesn't matter if it's a Muslim bombing a Buddhist temple, or a Buddhist army killing every Muslim in sight, or an anti abortionist bombing a clinic. The MO is the same in every example, anyone who doesn't contribute to the greater glory of the shamans is sentenced to death, in the most violent manner possible.

So get out your checkbook, send a generous love gift to your favorite rattler of old bones and fetishes, and get a tattoo that says, "Sucker" stenciled across your forehead. While those clever enough to figure out a married woman, with numerous children, is not entitled to the title of virgin, will consider you a fool, your fellow suckers will support your every effort to murder nonbelievers as long as those love gifts keep pouring in.

OT Brian > Another example of Islam being the religion of peace.......

With apologies to the owners of the thread for discussing something other than 9/11 and to you for my low intelligence, I nevertheless feel that this piece, which directly addresses your innuendo that Islam is anything but a religion of peace, gives the reason for your prejudice. By the way, I am neither a leftist nor a liberal nor, in fact, a lover of Muslims per se.

>>The image of Muslims as prone to violence by virtue of their religion was mainly constructed across centuries by Europeans seeking to bolster their own purposes, a habit of politicized paranoia that is masterfully continued by freaked-out leaders of post-9/11 America. They, too, like prelates, crusaders, conquistadors, and colonizers, have turned fear of Islam into a source of power. This history teaches that such self-serving projection can indeed result in the creation of an enemy ready and willing to make the nightmare real. <<

I trust you have the intelligence, as well as the insight, to recognize the source of your bigoted opinion.
