john i saw kinsley last week in interview.. he didn't look well. seems to have lost weight ,never was a large person to begin with. his face was very slim and he appeared very tired. It's been my impression, for some time, that his job moves are health related--leaving Slate certainly. I'm not a particular Kinsley fan; he's fairly uneven and tries too hard to write from the center. But as the center moves right, it gets harder to do. But he's certainly a bright guy and can, on occasion, write with unusual grace.
