I have been reluctant to discuss this because I had not seen all the info in the public domain. It is there now.

You are getting your wish....quietly.

We had an announced figure of 153,000 troops in Iraq for the election. That figure was understated by some thousands because Special Forces are never included in official DOD troop deployment figures. The 10th SF Group deployed in entirety to Iraq in November/December and other SF groups still have units there.

Slowly and quietly we have reduced the number to <135,000.
Some think we may be down to 120,000 or close to it.

That is a huge reduction in such a short time. But I see no strategic or tactical value in announcing it.

It also means we continue to send 10,000 FNGs every month.
