I'm sure that some of the screeners get carried away with enforcing the "policy". However, a "teacher" should have enough saavy to review what she packed and where she put it. I guess I am saying that if I have to be careful what I pack, so does she. Taking kids on a trip is no excuse.

I know you think they are one step above dim-wits, but they were doing their job....what they were trained to do. I'm not going to get into a discussion about where we draw the line..........this thread has seen enough of that imo.........but I respect someone who fulfills his promise to come to work and do his or her job.

If the teacher had been a student who brought a knife to school she'd be suspended.

FWIW, I think the screeners were right.

A knife, even a "bread knife", is not a close call.
The teach should have known better.
Good grief, with the zero tolerance policies
at schools these days, girls who take Midol for
PMS or kids carrying a nail clipper get clipped
for violations.

I'd expect more brains from the head of the class,
rather than a victim mentality and whining.
