You wouldnt apply that logic to afganistan would you Ed? If the elder bush thought iraq would be a mess, he certainly would have been hesitant about going into afganistan as well? You cant have it both ways. So the mess in iraq comes later where it did not come in afganistan. That was my point. Three years of war and no admission of mistakes. Thats what troubles me most. You and UW both fought in vietnam and came away with totally different viewpoints. What do you think about his call for a draft? My take is that if it is instituted now in this war, it will make vietnam on the home front look like a cakewalk. NYT article said parents imploring their kids not to enlist. No need for Country Joe now that the boomers run things.
