Well, let's face it, it's time to bring back the atomic powered steam car. Just insert a few control rods, and lead shielding, and only sell them to people who are kinda old anyway. Between the Russian Republic and the USA we probably have enough for one per family. Of course in the event of war, your car would be spontaneously seized for intercontinental use, until then it could provide enough energy to heat your house in winter, cool it in summer, toast your poptarts, etc.

Well, I just solved the energy crisis. What's next?
