interesting article on Bangalore, India. I was there briefly in early April. It is what Bombay was a decade ago. in a decades time, Bangalore is likely to choke, just like Bombay is these days. alongside shantytowns, you have IT folks who are very prosperous. It is not uncommon to find an apartment block with facilities like a swimming pool, hot tub etc.

BANGALORE: Air Deccan, the low-cost no-frills carrier, on Wednesday introduced its much-promised Re.1 tickets on trunk routes operated with Airbus aircraft.

According to a company statement, the lowest denomination tickets, with an additional payment of Rs.221 towards airport taxes, received a huge response across the country.
