<"Did BUSH address ANY of those things in his first 9 months?"

President Bush 41 was perhaps the most skillful foreign policy President of the last century. Yet he screwed up in Iraq because Arabs threatened not to pay for the liberation if we removed Saddam then. For his excellent foreign policy he was rewarded with an opportunity to explore other options. President Bush 43 learned from the mistakes of the forty first President. Our country expects our Presidents to focus on domestic issues first.

At least Clinton was AWARE of Bin Laden and was watching him. Bush was seemingly blivious to terrorism

Clinton was more aware of Denise Rich than OBL. Clinton's response to global terrorism left much to be desired. President Bush's response to global terrorism left much to be desired prior to 9/11. The beauty of analyzing history is that some things are more clear. Others are shaded by partisanship.

For instance the executive order prohibiting our intelligence officers from using people with seedy pasts as sources was one of the most disastrous intelligence failures in the history of the Republic. Fortunately, President Bush rescinded the order. After an eight year hiatus, we had major catching up to do.

Rather than shooting off Million Dollar cruise missiles (and not replentishing stockpiles) like Clinton, President Bush exhibited leadership. The tough thing about leadership is that you present a target. President Bush has not had to take a poll every day to see what he thinks. It exposes him to more criticism. It appears a majority of American voters prefer leadership at this juncture of history. In 2008 we get another opportunity to express our preferences. For now, we need to get behind the leader we elected.
