"having a bad moose day".

-lol- yes I had several of those days here in the UK. All I know is, when you are treading in the snow, through a mixture of dead branches underfoot in the woods, no way could you run without breaking an ankle. If some territorial bad tempered moose starts to come after you, there is little chance of escape. No way could you get up a tree before the antlers got you. If you shot the moose (and hopefully killed it before it whacked you) you would be prosecuted for killing it (an lose your hunting licence for sure). Mind you I have been up close to moose several times without incident. I just heard the stories.
