2005 New Jersey Governor Race
Polipundit

Right now you would have to say that whoever "polipundit" is is smoking something illegal if he/she thinks Forrester and Corzine are in a dead heat in Jersey. It's all Corzine's to lose. The numbers are his, the money is his, the reputation around the state is his, the united party going into the general election is his, the voter registration is his.

But this campaign could well redefine gubernatorial campaigns. Both have more money than is healthy and will certainly use more money than is healthy. I expect to see the summer to be fairly heavily devoted to early attack strategies of defining their opponent before he defines himself. Corzine will try to paint Forrester as an arch conservative, out of touch with Jersey voters, in an attempt to get the independent vote; Forrester will try to paint Corzine as only 1 degree of separation from McGreevey, Kushner, Norcross, Torricelli, et al.

Should be interesting. No problem who gets my vote.
