the fact that advertisers are bidding on "general" words like semiconductor, SUV and whatnot is just an indication of how immature this market is. What they should be bidding on are brand name keywords, those are really the most valuable. Example Calvin Klein Eternity. What you should see when you type in that keyword is every competitor for that certain brand. Try it for most brands. Nothing there but little internet companies- "maytag neptune", "serta" etc. Nothing.

As for your comment about the 300 billion, sure it isn't like 300 billion is going to transfer dollar for dollar to goog. But goog is going to bring in over 600 million in cash this next quarter, and that is with the paltry 9 billion internet advertising execution. What if another 9 billion goes to internet in the US alone... is that possible, you bet, my guess is US internet ads go from 9 billion to about 30 billion. What will goog make then, have you thought about it... I doubt it. And that is US only.

At least you don't present yourself as a venture capitalist like another visionless person on some of the tech stock threads though- I'll give you that.
