Why or how does a family of 2 use four Mac computers and one Windows based computer?

Number of reasons. One, back-up; they're laptops, we travel a lot, a total crash is unacceptable. Two, we're both photographers crunching tons of images each, so most times one of our machines is doing one thing, the other another. The Windows machine is for old software unavailable in Mac land except in OS9, yet essential for downloading images from my favorite old digital camera. Also, helps to have both PC and Mac machines on hand when creating web pages, in order to see what they look like on both platforms.

I kept my Mac 8500 for a couple of years of never using it, before I gave it to a school for the tax deduct. I came close to buying a Mini the other day - I'm glad I passed!
