Yes, it turns out a Koran was not flushed but rather simply thrown in a toilet.

"It turns out" is too definitive of statement to accurately reflect the reliability of the information we currently have.

So what? Look at the list of known and disclosed incidents below. Do you think they are an improvement over the flushing of the Koran? And we haven't even gotten to the torture deaths. This attitude on the part of the right of never being wrong even when found to be wrong infuriates me:

The confirmed incidents -

"The confirmed incidents include:

* a guard kicking a prisoner's Koran;

* Korans being wetted by water balloons thrown by guards;

* a "two-word obscenity" written inside the cover of a Koran, which Gen. Hood's report says could have been done by a guard or the prisoner himself;

* a guard who relieved himself too close to an air vent, spraying a prisoner and his Koran; and

* a contract interrogator who stepped on a Koran during an interrogation."
