The actual suicide bombers are a minority. However, the suicide bombers and the culture of violence is honored in the Middle East. Why do you think Al-Jazeera and the other popular Arab networks broadcast all blood and gore 24 by 7? Do you think it is because they are trying to repulse their audience? No, it's because they know that they are catering to a culture that sees violence every day and that this culture feeds on violence. Al-Jazeera is a mirror for the culture. That's not what al Jazeera is doing.........they are not catering to a culture of violence but rather they are playing into the hatred of the US. Look at this way.....how many times has Saudi Arabia sent troops to the US to quell some of the unrest in American cities? How many bases does Syria have in the US? How much money has Turkey given to the campaigns of our most unpopular presidents? When did Iran step in and insist that FLA be given to the Jews for a new state? How many times has Egypt sent troops to the Panama canal to insure that it stays open and the US does not try to restrict the ships of countries it does not like? Its very fashionable among the right to put down people, including Americans, who criticize the US even when their complaints are legitimate. Unfortunately, the rest of the world is unwilling to play this game where the rules are set up the American right. And exterminating all the Muslims who hate us is really not an option no matter how much people fantasize about such a possibility. So I suggest we all start to see that there are two sides to a problem and that the US has done things that have helped encouraged American hate in the ME. Look at CNN and the BBC. Those news sources are probably the most unbiased large networks in the U.S. and U.K. In most news stories that are not op/ed, they deliberately try to get both sides of the story. And you won't see them showing and gruesome amount of blood and gore either. Very distinctly different than Al-Jazeera or ANN. Once again, this is no accident. CNN and the BBC are governed by the rules of law in their own countries and by the prevaling morals of the cultures they cater too. They are a mirror for the societies they serve. Again, I don't think you understand the constituency of the al-Jazeera And the mindset of the average Middle Easterner. And just for the record, I am sick to death of this administration and CNN and the BBC sanitizing this war for THEIR constituency. Americans need to see the maiming and the killing to fully understand what the American gov't has unleashed on an unsuspecting public. We have killed probably close to 50,000 Iraqis and maimed another 100,000. We have destroyed countless buildings in an economy that can't afford such destruction. And that's only what the Americans have done. Americans made a very big mistake electing the likes of Bush and we will pay dearly for that mistake. Yes, they did and we are already paying dearly for Bush's mistakes. Lucky for Americans, we get to vote for a new President in 2008. Palestinians and ME Arabs don't get that kind of relief. No wonder they have so much pent up rage. Can you imagine American liberals having to live the rest of their lives under a President like Bush with no hope of emmigration? You'd go stark raving mad, maybe even resort to violence. Its that fear that motivates liberals to keep the American democracy strong. The right stimulus is that they are getting attacked, maimed and killed. That would be the right stimulus for anyone whether they were from the ME, Asia or the West. Agreed, which is why the Israelis are so brutal in return. Atrocities inflicted beget more atrocity in return, and very often leads to ongoing escalations in atrocity levels. That describes the ME perfectly. But no one side is any more innocent than the other. I agree, but for a long time in this country, there was a belief that the Israelis were more innocent. That perception seems to be changing.
