I'd have to say a gradual phase out of corporate pension plans. In return, bigger cash matching contributions by employers to 401Ks. Also profit sharing plans based on the companies performance. The company I work for ended our pension plan and used those money for a matching contribution in the 401K. All moneys vested were returned per IRS rules.

I know their vague ideas, but you have to start somewhere.

BYW-The company I work for based their gain sharing plan on my idea many years ago. This in addition to a matched 401K plan and profit sharing plan. The gain sharing plan is not a retirement plan, but a way to motivate employees and keep a sense of pride for doing a good job.
If the company maintains a profit performance within certain levels of profitability. There is a cash payout quarterly. Equal amounts to all full time employees.

As always, open to constructive criticism.
Any other ideas?
