Quit the revisionist history. Kennedy was murdered by the rightwing hawks for wanting to end that war. Shame on you for dragging his righteousness through the mud.

Nixon kept the war going for 5 long years after we all knew it was hopeless. So hopeless that LBJ withdrew from the election admitting he had failed us in Nam. Five years and about 35,000 extra Americans killed. Complete with all his lying, cheating and dirty tricks.

It was not Nixon but brave protests by heros like John Kerry which ended the war. Nixon would have kept it going for years if not for that pressure from the people and on the streets.

You can't whitewash Nixon's reputation. We have all read the Watergate tape transcripts. We know.

Kennedy would have fought it more effectively than Lyndon. Lyndon was the most overemployed politician in American history. The nuking of Stalinist North Vietnam in 1965 would have made that war a distant memory.

The same applies to North Korea today, as well as much of the Islamic world. Unlike 40 years ago, however, those actions are EXACTLY where we are heading...
