"Keep the mass on a ration of onions, tomatoes, fish and wheat, that they will worship the gods respect the priests and work their asses off to build any stupid thing they were told to." Mexico staved off potential revolution by food subsidies in 1970's to 1980's. No hunger, no revolution.

"It is akin to, today, planting red beet to make sugar in an European farm with garanteed prices by the government." US farm subsidies is quite famous.

"The food stuffs doled out diminished the masses revolted stopped respecting the priests and building non sense." Great combination - subsidized food on the table and control of the masses by religion. That's what traditional Islam was supposed to do, to teach the masses the discipline to be subservient and become the source of low cost labor for the elites. Pakistan is an example, but so are many Muslim countries.

Re: consequences and outcomes: Globalization makes Bolivia close to France.

Well, years ago, I drew a more accurate parallel between Europe as a whole and Argentina... I can't find the corresponding posts since I wrote them all in 2000, 2001,... Again, my forecast was bang on target as the euro is now undergoing a crisis similar to that of the Argentine peso...
