Without a strong free press we are a weak democracy. If you want to supress the press and turn them into state-supporting propaganda machines, then move to a totaltarian state. You will be happy there. Nobody disagrees with the autocratic president or his oligarchic corporate special interest lords. The rigthwing's long history of dishonest attacks on our best newspapers and networks is an abomination and thoroughly corrupt. On their side, they condone all kinds of smear campaigns, lies, disinformation and cover-ups. Which is what got is into the Iraq mess, gas-gouged to death and trillions in debt. Not to mention gross GOP election fraud and ignoring Saudi terrorism prior to and even after 9-11.
