Are you REALLY equating the civilian casualties of this war and a few cases of prisoner abuse to the past atrocities of European nations against each other and as imperialist conquerers of Africa, Asia and the Americas? Never mind the hugely greater "collateral" civilian casualties of past European wars. If so, please seek out a good handyman - you have become unhinged.

"The American Indians claim that is precisely what we are and we claim we are the good guys."

LOL. They thanked you for wiping out entire tribes with that intentional smallpox infestation yet? :-)

An early application of biological warfare. Something like Saddam was working on, before he was so RUDELY interrupted.

"The Algerian war is just ONE example, lady. How many do you want?"

Sigh. The point is, and always has been, that past atrocities do not make YOUR CURRENT atrocity "right".

You want an apology for unseating Saddam? Don't hold your breath. You'll be dead a long, long time before that happens.

French troops sorta, kinda helped knock off Hitler. (Actually, as best I can determine, their "contribution" consisted of leading the pasrade into an already captured Paris.) Have the French apologized to the Germans for that?

"The assumed superiority of European culture is Swiss cheese."

There is no such superiority except perhaps in your mind, since you keep referring to it so often.

Pardon my French, but "BS". The dasintily civilized Europeons missed no opportunity to criticize we crude, rustic, and violent Americans in the run-up to the Iraq war.

This, of course, was after they sat on their butts as Hitler violated the Versailles Treaty repeatedly when that same treaty gave them right of military intervention to prevent those very violations. Their hand-wringing indecision resulted in 6 million dead Jews, 20 million dead Russians, and an estimated 25 million dead of other nationalities.

If there is one group we don't care to hear from about how to keep the peace, it's the French.

"OBJECTION! PRESUMES FACTS NOT IN EVIDENCE!"

LOL! You still think I am an American posting from Ohio? -g-

I know of no evidence that contradicts that theory. Do you?

"What are you then? Angolan? :-)"

Heh, don't get them started again. I think even the dimmer one got the idea that I was pulling her strings after the tenth time I explained it. No need to confuse her again :-)

The following is presented in evidence:
Message 18694351

"I am pointing out that those loudly criticizing us have themselves in the not so distant past done PRECISELY that. And, given time and opportunity, most likely will again."

And have officially apologized for it. Their likelihood of repeating it is as high as that of Germany of repeating a holocaust.

Did it apologize to the Brits and Americans? I think they losta few men straightening that out too.

Still, THE ISSUE is what is going on NOW. The fact that similar atrocities have happened around the world BEFORE does not make it OK for YOU to do it.

Would you not agree?

That depends. If, say, we have strong reason to believe NK is going to launch on the US, and we launch to prevent it, I'd call it justified.

Would the French have been wrong if they invaded the Rhineland when German troops re-occupied it? (HINT: The German troops had secret orders to retreat if that happened. And the Versailles Treaty gave France the right to do it.)
