Environmental groups have been against nuclear power since incidents like the one at Chernobyl! Also Sellafield, a British plant that has polluted the Irish Sea, has been a great concern. Environmentalists would more likely support nuclear power if it were cleaner, and that discussion is currently occurring in the environmental community. Nuclear power plants are also a potential terror risk.

I can't respond to the hydro plant part because I don't know anything about these.

Global warming caused by human activity is a scientific fact. The only scientists who don't agree are the ones who are bought and paid for by the petroleum industry, an extremely small minority.

Why do you think the Bush administration's own scientists' reports got edited and had their meaning changed to downplay what the scientists were reporting? It is because Bush and the corporations and lobbyists who support him all make vast fortunes from their participation in environmental degradation.
