Jon - With 8000 Hedge funds now prowling the streets, your comments seem most appropriate. I read (FT) that 1 fund alone accounts for 3% of the daily trading on the NYSE. You can almost imagine what influence 8000 of these are having. Paraphrasing the Heisenberg Uncertainty principle - The act of making a measurement changes what it is being measured. It wouldn't be much of a surprise to learn the answer to Greenspan's conundrum
is hedge fund activity.
I was impressed by the Lilly comment that Byetta represented an important advance. I'm hanging around with my long position and 2007 call options.
There were quite a few AMLN options picked up a couple of weeks back. It will be interesting to see if they are sold and at what price.
