I dont know your politics LL but every time someone mentions a democrat moderate or a republican one for that matter who may have some ideas of value or God forbid ambitions, one gets vilified. Hillary, Biden, McCain, & Hagel come to mind. Thanks for pointing that out LL. At least someone went back and read my "bidens points" post correctly.
Hey while i got you, another poster here claimed that clinton/DOD military funding which was clearly inadequate couldnt be changed by congress after submission by DOD. Do you know if this is true. Seems weird that congress can cut a budget but not add to it. Mike

At this point Posse Comitatus is close to a fiction anyway. Remember those National Guard troops in airports after 911? The use of National Guard troops multiple times to force integration? The use of them in the Boston Police strike many years back?

I believe you will find they were under the command of a governor. That is permissable.

I do remember the use of federal troops to provide security for certain individuals. They were always from the 82nd Airborne Division.
