North Vietnam doesn't exist. So how can it honor Kerry?
Vietnam, the real country not your imaginary one, was no doubt hugely relieved to have ended that horrendous war finally after so many years and over 500,000 of its people killed. Since Kerry did his part in helping to end the war, they probably do like him there. Kerry with McCain also helped normalize relations between our country. Another positive thing he did, though the extreme rightwing vets disagree. They disagree, but they are 100% wrong.

Make no mistake, we are the ones who owe that country a huge apology. While we can all agreed communist is bad, it turns out we made a huge error and based that war on a foundation of lies and irresponsible assumptions. Now we know that we were not fighting the Soviet Union or China by attacking the North Vietnamese. But just were putting ourselves in the middle of a nasty third world civil war. The majority of Vietnamese wanted us out of there. And we should have gotten out 6-7 years earlier than we did. If we had, 50,000 Americans would still be alive, and we'd be a richer country. We still haven't paid off the Vietnam War debt.

Notice that even though the communists won, neither the Soviets nor the Red Chinese played any major role in Vietnam after 1976. So the whole assumption we based the war on was proven false. Also the Gulf Of Tonkin attack never happened. Similar to ther WMD's scare. Just a phony excuse for escalating. God Bless John Kerry for helping to end that war sooner. He saved thousands of lives.
