Who are "atheists"? Those who believe in other religions? Those who believe in all religions (as diverse philosophies) and believe in no religion (as organizations)?

Does somebody become an "atheist" merely because they don't believe in the nonsense that the world was not created 10,000 years ago by a bearded white man?
