The name of the game with Syria is squeeeeze, imo. The Bush admin announcing Syrian meddling in Lebanon = an announcement that any more car bombs in Beirut will be laid directly on Bashar Assad's doorstep. The US wants regime change in Syria but not a war, so they will try upping the pressure to see if the Syrian business class and army get sufficiently alarmed to do the job for them. Syria is already isolated, indeed the Arab League would be glad to see a Sunni regime replace the current Alawite one. Meantime, rather than any overt attack, I expect the Iraqi government to keep announcing Syrian involvement in the insurgency and to raid across the border.

As for Hizbullah, I expect it to respond to pressure with a small border war. The Israelis will reply proportionately.
