OK then, why does the GOVERNMENT have to borrow it?

We are in deficit, even admitted by the ultra conservative WSJ, primarily because of two things:

- A. War
- B. Huge tax cuts for the ultrawealthy
- A and B at the same time

Adding $356 BILLION to the national debt is actually noticeable.
Subtracting $356 BILLION from our expenditures is actually noticeable as well.

Therefore, it is a big deal.
