I haven't read Huber's books, but I've seen him on TV. He tends to make provocative in-your-face statements to get publicity, like his silly axiom that "waste is good". Why should I pay for that kind of drivel, when I can get plenty of it here on SI for free? <g>

Ray,

I don't like it, but I think the developed world will demand the expansion of nuclear power in response to the twin problems of peak oil and global warming. With ten billion people around the globe wanting to live and consume like Americans, thousands of nuke plants will eventually be required.

People will convince themselves that it's "safe", but sooner or later there will be another serious nuclear disaster somewhere in the world. Hope I'm not around when it happens.
