I don't know. We need to find this Oil Barrel equivalent in ethanol.

Ethanol substitutes Gasoline. From oil you produce nafta, kerosene and petrochemicals for plastics. We already can take a part that goes in gasoline and now ramping up bio-diesel.

Next we have to start making plastics of out of agriculture products too. It is like when the Germans (IG Farben) were blocked in WWI and WWII and started doing out of petroleum what they used to do with natural materials. Dies, fertilizers, rubber and fibers. Out of IG Farben the allied powers split them into : BASF, Hoeschst and Bayer.

Now we have to go back to natural raw materials.

MQ is the one who knows about the oil business to shed some light on this.
