"he is just naturally incurious,"

And, sadly, sees himself as a savvy businessman because of it. Despite his "success" in business...

Any other explanation would require huge leaps in logic, such as the notion that Rove is an all-powerful, diabolical mind-control specialist.

It's more a partnership of Cheney, who has the neocon ideas, and Rove who is the tactition.

Bush is not mind-controlled, he is just naturally incurious, and is kept in informational isolation by his handlers.

I think you are absolutely right. His whole life has been one of not stretching boundaries and of playing as much as he can within whatever work structure he's been forced to follow. I was amazed when he was first elected and had never traveled outside the country. In this day and age, given his family's money.........the sucker apparently has never experienced any kind of curiousity about another place outside the US. How can he have any kind of foreign policy if he's never experienced what it is to be foreign anything?

He's not stupid but he's not brilliant either. As you suggest, he's simply incurious and is one who is easily kept in check by his handlers. Laura Bush suits him perfectly........they seem to be a dumbed down verion of Reagan and his wife. They've turned him into the people's everyman and he's out there fronting this administration.

His latest........said with a knowing, fatherly smile.........."with the war on terror, a good offense in Iraq is good defense for America". And of course, according to him, we are winning the war........welcome to 1984's doublespeak.
