If Bush is impeached, he may step down before 2008. But better to let him remain a lame duck whose policies have been soundly rejected by the public. If you look at the polls on his policies, they are even more unpopular than he is, on stem cells and Terri Schiavo BS as high as 70% disapproval, 60% disapproval for Iraq, the economy and social security. These numbers mean that any congressman who supports Bush's policies may have trouble getting re-elected. Especially when you factor in the DElay corruption.

I think polls have little to do with it. We will have another election in 2008. President Bush will be President until 2009.
