What pisses me off is how people spend thousands of dollars on stocks that have 10 billion shares outstanding & won't spend a few hundred bucks on a stock like IBCS with only 104 million O/S & 55 million float! >> THis is a mistake even novices make...too many people get caught up in specific numbers that dont really tell much. For instance...people see a stock at $5 a share and one at $20 a share and they think the $5 a share stock is cheaper...people fail to realize the price of the stock means nothing. The $20 stock may be cheaper then the $5 stock, depending on OS. You make the same mistake with your above statement. It would be true if people were buying a company with 10bil OS that was a money loser, versus one with 100mil OS and making money...obviously, the latter has better numbers....but, bottom line = I will buy a company with 10bil OS over one with 104 mil outstanding, if the 10bil numbers look better. I am talking about your company or any specific company...just in general...a company with 10bil OS earning $1PPS is a far better company then one with 100mil OS and no EPS. Yes, the float has something to do with every stock, but the bottom line = is the company executing, making money, growing profits and etc?.....that is what counts.....I can give you a list of more companies then you can count that have very small floats, but they are nothing companies run out of somebodies basement, that will probably never earn a penny in profit. THat does not make the company a better buy then a company with a large float, just because it has a lower float. Which is the better company? That is your better buy.
